ANR Newsletter #30
Good day, and welcome back to my newsletter discussing the latest trends in project management, leadership, strategy implementation and Projects to Make a Better World.
Thanks for all the positive comments on the initial issue. I was delighted to see that it was much appreciated. Also, I would like to thank you for sharing the newsletter with your colleagues. The number of subscribers has grown by more than 3.000 readers since its launch a month ago.
This second newsletter includes:
- An article on a paradigm shift we are facing today, which I describe as “The Project Economy”. I had the pleasure of talking about this during the first European Business Forum (Odense, May 2017). The Forum included world thought leaders of the caliber of Michael Porter, Rita McGrath, Marshall Goldsmith, and Erin Meyer. <You can watch the video here>.
- In my series on notorious project failures, I analyze the Google Glass Project; why it failed, and what lessons can be drawn.
- Finally, I had the pleasure to interview one of the pioneers in strategy implementation, Robin Speculand, who describes how he has seen this field of management exploding over the past decade.
My goal is to keep offering a fresh view on recent developments in our field. I hope that some of the topics addressed help you excel in your job, progress in your career, and hopefully help us create a better world.
I’d like to leave you with a quote from Mark Zuckerberg’s Commencement address at Harvard 2017, which talks about Purpose. Interestingly, it is the central theme of my HBR article, the Hierarchy of Purpose:
“Purpose is that sense that we are part of something bigger than ourselves, that we are needed, that we have something better ahead to work for. Purpose is what creates true happiness”.
Stay well, stay focused, and thanks for reading.
